The meeting was called to order by the Mayor,
;r. J. Furlong.
Councilmen present were: Furlong. Leonis and Durbin.
Counc ilmen absent '."lere: Levy and Kniffin
At this tDne it was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis
that the reading of the minutes of the previous meetings be
dispensed with. Motion carried.
A communioation from the Vitrefrax. Company regarding
traffio on Pacific Boulevard, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin tha.t the
matter be referred to the City Attorney for response..
Mot ion oarried.
Communioation from the Railroad Commission regarding
grade separation at Downey Road of the Santa Fe Railway.
Hearing to be April 9th, at 2.00P.:M. was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis that the
matter be referred to Councilrr~n Leonis to be present.
Motion oarried.
Communioation from the Asbury Truck Company requesting
a permit to install one 10,000 gallon underground gaSOline
tank upon their premises at 49th and Alameda Street.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin that the
matter be referred to the City Attorney, City Engineer a.nd
Fire Chief far report. Motion oarried.
Communioation from F. C. Crossan to haul scrap meta.l
from 2288 East 48th Street to dump at 26th and Las Angeles
River. was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin that permit
be granted. Motion oarried.
Communication from U. J. Lemelle for permit to hau~
refuse from 2040'~ East Vernon Avenue to Las Angeles Incinerator,
was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis that the
coramunica.tion be filed and permit granted. Motion carried.
Cormnunicat ion from Hercules Gasoline Company for II ernlit
to haul rubbish from their premises a.t 2411 East 30th Street
to the Blue Diamond Pit located at 'Jlashington and Alameda,
Was read.
It was moved by Leonis. seconded by Durbin that the
cammunication be filed and permit granted. Motion carried.

Communication fram the Pennzoil Company re~uesting
permit to haul refuse from their premises at 262.6 Santa Fe
Avenue to Clara Street dump, was read.
It wa.s moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin that the
cammunic~t ion be filed and permit granted. Mot ion carried.
Communication from the Superior Paint and Lacquer
Company for permit to haul refuse from their premises a.t
2438 East 54th Street to Los Angeles City Dump, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin that
the cornmunicat ion be fil eel and permit granted. Motion
carr ied .
Communication from P. J. Durbin for permit to haul refuse
from premises at 3045 East Vernon Avenue to the Bandini
Dump, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin that the
communication be filed and permit granted. Motion carried.
Report of the Police Department on the general con-
dition of the city, was read.
It was moved by Durbin) seconded by Leonie that the
report be referred to .the Police Commission. Motion
carried.

the City Engineer, were read:
APPLICATION NQ). 1826: By Sunland Biscuit Company for building
permit for the construction of small addition to factory
at Everett and Fruitland Avenue. ~proximate cost $1500.00
APPLICATION NO. 1827: Byl'a.cific Steel Building Company for
building permit far the construction of locker room and
toilet for factory at 2065 East 51st Street. Approximate
cast $250.00
APPLICATION NO. 1828 :By Baash Ross ~ool Company for bui-iding
permit for the construction of power house extension at
5512 So. Boyle Avenue. Approximat e cost $6,000.00
APPLICATION NO. 1829: By Gilmore Oil c.ompany for building
permit for al terating garaiSeinto office at 2424 East 26th
Street. Approximate cost $250.00

for building permit for the construction of warehouse at
4435 East '19th Street. Approximate cost $50,000.00
