reading af the Minutes af the previaus meeting be dispensed
with. Matian carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 430, an ardinance declaring the in~en-
tian af the City Cauncil to. call an election to. farm a. municipal
impravement district was read far secand reading.
It was mo.ved by Levy, secanded by Durbin, that
Ordinance No. 430 be passed far second reading. Matian carried.

Communicatian fram the U. S. Spring and Bumper Ca.
requesting rene\val af permit to. haul refuse fram premises lacated
a.t 50th and Magnalia Avenue was read.
It was maved by Durbin, secanded by Leonis, that
the canrnunicatian be filed and the permit granted. Mat io.n
carried.
Communicatian fram the Pastal Telegraph Campany re-
garding the relacatian af pales immediately east of Sota street
was read.
It was maved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, tha.t this
cammunication be referred to the Committee of the Whale. Matian
carri ed.
Communicatio.n fram Ward Love Pump Corparatian re-
questing permit to. operate at 4519 East 50th Street was read.
It was moved by Durbin, secanded by Levy, that the
camnunicatian be filed and the permit granted. Matio.n carried.
Cammunica.tian from the Sierra. Faad Campany requesting
permit to. haul refuse from its premises at 2024 East 49th Street
was read.

It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy that
the communication be filed and permi't granted. Motion
carried. .
At this time the City Clerk reported to the
Council that he had received bids for the furnishing of
the city with electric light bulbs for a year at a certain
stipulated price named in the bid, together with the bids
from other companies, and that the bid of the Littlejohn
Ruling Company wa.s, in his opinion, the best bid, and recom-
mended to the Council that he be empowered to purchase light
glObes from said company for a period of one year. He es-
timated that the cost for the year would be in the neighbor-
hood of $80.00. After some discussion it was moved by Levy,
seeonded by Durbin, that the City Clerk be authorized to
purChase the necessary globes for the city's property for
one year from the Littlejohn Ruling Company. Motioncarried.
The following applications, all having the approval
of the City Engineer, were read:
Application 221.0: or Abegg & Reinhold for building permit
for the construction of a heat treating factory at 2535 East
26th Street. A.pproximate cost $1000.00.
Application 2211: of Woodward Bennett Oompany for building
permit for alterations at Soto and Vernon Avenue. Approxi-
ma.te cost $500.00.
Application 2212: of' Deitrict .Tosalyn Company for building
permit to construct extension to cra.ne runway a.t District
Boulevard and Cudahy Street.
Application 2213: of Standard Industrial Compa.ny for building
permit to construct a four foot sign at 4905 Santa Fe Avenue.
Approxinate cost $50.00.
Moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the app1ica..-
tions be filed and permits granted. Motion oarried.
Report of the Police Department on genera.l conditions
of the city was rea.d. -
Moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that the report be
filed. Mot ion carried.
Moved by Durbin, secorned by Levy, that the meeting
adjourn. Motion carried.
