The meeting was called to order by the Mayor,
J'. J'. Furlong.

It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that
the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dis-
pensed with. Motion carried.
At this time Councilman Leonis introduced Resolution
No. 591, a Resolution changing the name of Audrey Street, in the
City of Vernon, to East 45th street, and moved its adoption, whioh
Resolution was seconded by Councilman Levy, and carried.
ORDINAlJCE NO. 361 was read for third and final
reading.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
Ordinance 361 be adopted. Motion ca rried by the following

Communication from the Youngstown Stell Products
Company, petitioning the City to institute condemnation
prooeedings for the widening of the first alley east of Santa
Fe Avenue, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
the matter be referred to the City Attorney with instructions
to communicate with the Youngstown Steel Products Co. informing
it tbet the City would not take action unless at least 51 per
cent of the property owners in the district desired action taken.
Motion carried.
Communication from the Pacific Steel Products
Corporation regarding automobile parking on the south side of
Slauson near its plant entrance was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Lefy, that
the same be sent to the City Attorney for reply. Motion
carried.
Communication from the Los Angeles Railway Co.
regarding a bus line on Sota Street and requesting permis..,.
sion to operate same, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
the communication be filed and the permit granted. Motion
carried.
Communioation from E. J. Stanton & Son regarding
, dry weeds on property adjaoent to their property on East

operate a restaurant at 21.1.7 East 25th Street, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that the
same be ref'erred to the Polic-e Department. Motion carried.
Communicat ion from the West Coast Equipment Company
for permit and license to operate a manufacturing and brokerage
business of gasoline dispensing equipment at 21.46 East 38th
Street, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, se~onded by Levy, that the
eommunication be filed and the permit granted. Hot ion carried.
