Recpart of the Fire Chief regarding the Los Angeles Incinerator, wherein he stated tha.t said incinerator was now a fire menace to the city of Vernon, was read. It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that the report of the Fire Chief be considered filed and the of Pub- city attorney be requested to communicate with the Los Angeles :BoarY lie Works in reference to the said fire menace. Motion carried. Report of the Police Department was read. It wa.s moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis, that the same be filed. Motion earried. . At this time the City Engineer requested permission to employ an assistant engineer to check up and ascertain the va.luation of the elec~tric transm.ission lines of the city. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis, that the request of the City Engineer be granted, and that he be instructed to employ such a.ssistance as are necessary, at a cost not to exceed the sum of $1500.00.
