It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that
the reading of the Minutes ort the previous mee'ting 1be dis-
pensed with. ][otion carried.
At this time Councilman Durbin introduced RESOLUTION
NO. 616, a Resolut ion of the City Council of the Cit.y of Vernon
a.dopt ing specificat ions for the funnishing, ereC't ing and
operating of Diesel engine driven generator units and auxil.iar-
ies for the City of Vernon, California., and moved the adoption
of said Resolution, which was seconded by Councilman Leonis,
a.nd carried by the fo11owing vote:

It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis, that the
City Clerk be instructed to advertise far bids, in compliance
with notice inviting sealed bids, submitted by the City Attorney
znd Specifications No. 25, adopte.d by Resolution No. 616 - bids
to be opened May 6, 1931, at eight o'clock P.M. Motion carried:.
M this time the City Engineer- reported upon the bids
rece ived from. the Ile:veral bidders for the furnishing of' a deep
well. pump, and adv ised the City Council that the bid of the
Peerless Pump Company was the lowest and best bid, and recom-
mended that it. purc'hase the pump described as AJ:terna,te No.2.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Martin, that the
suggestion of the City Engineer be complied with, and that the
City buy the pump described as Alternate No.2", and that the
City Attorney be instructed to dra.vl a.contract in a.ecordance
therewith. Mot ion carried.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Martin, tha.t
this meeting a.djourn until. Monda.y, April 13, ~93l, at eight
o.clock P. M. Motion ca.rried.
