The meeting was ca.ll.ed to order by the Mayor,
.T. .T. Furlong.
Councilmen preaent. Furlong, Leonis, Durbin,
Levy, Mart in
Councilmen abaent: None.
It was moved. by Durbin, seconded by Martin, that
the reading of the Minutes of the p,rev ious meeting be dis-
pensed with. Motion carried.
At this time the City Clerk announced that. he had
on his desk, pursuant to notice inviting sealed proposals
or bids for the furnishing, installing and opera.ting of
Diesel. engine driven genera.tor units and auxil.iaries for the
City of Vernon, three sealed proposa.ls from the fallowing
firms:
Bush Sulzer Bros.
Norberg llJ.anufaeturing Co.
Hooven Owens Rentschler Co.
It was moved. by Levy, seconded by Durbin. that
the bids be opened and publicly declared. Mot ion carried.
At this time the City Clerk, assisted by the City
Attorney, publicly opened and read the bids from the firms
mentioned, to-wit: Bush Sulzer Bros.; Norberg lJIanu:fa.c.turing
Co., and Hooven Owians Rentschler Co.
It wall moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that all
bids be referred to the City Engineer far tabu1.ation, and,
upon the ta.bul.ation of same, all bids, together with the
resu1.t.s -af t.he tabu1.at ion, be referred to the Committ.ee on
Light and Power for t.heir investigation, report and recom-
mendations. Motion carried.
It wa.s moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that all
other business be laid over until the next. regular meeting.
