the r'e&ding af the Minutes of the previaus meeting be dis-
pensed with. Motion carried.
Report of the. City Eng iua er on bids f or the well
pump receiTed, and the Engineer recommended tha.t a.l1 bids
be rejec:ted with the exception of the bid for the repair
of the pump of the Peerless. Pump Compa.ny, a.nd tha.t that "hid
be aceept: eel.

the recommenda.tion of the City Engineer be concurred in,
tha.~ al~ bids be rej eated except the bid of the .Peer~ess
Pump Company, a.nd that the eoIItraet be awarded to. the Peer-
less Pump Company, in aceord.8.nce with the Ci1y Engineer-ts
recommendation, and that the City Attorney be instructed
to. draw a contract, a.nd the Mayor and City Clerk are auth-
orized to sign same in the name of the Cit.y. Motion carried.
RESOLlJTION NO. 619:, a resal.ution a.ppointing a.p-
pra.isers in connectian with the Acquisition an1i Improvement
District No.. 1, was read.

RESOLUTION NO. 620, & resolut ion fixing time for

district No.1, was read.

Communica.tion fram Wm. Paddison for permit to. haul
refuse from a. number of restaurants \vithin the city - &lsa

to trim trees for the Southern California Edison Company's
power lines, was read.

Report of the Police Department on the general eon-
dition of the city was read.
It was moved by Martin, seconded by Leonis. t~

At this time the City Engineer reported that. his
office had not as yet checked the bida received on the Diesel
engine eleetrioi.LgeIlerat ing unit s for the p-Gwer plant.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by :Martin~ that the
the report of the City Engineer be fil.ed. Motion carried.
At this time the City Attorney reported that the
form of easement given to the City by the Santa Fe Rail.way
on its storm dra.in wa.s correct.
It was moved by Martin, seconded by Leonis, that the
report of the City At torney be accepted, and that he be in..;.
strueted to approve form of easement in \"lri tinge Mot ion

At this time the City Attorney req,uested the City
Counc il to employ E. R. Young a.s consulting attorney tlpon the
plans, specifications, bids and contra.cts to be drawn by the
Ci"ty Attorney on the power pla.nt, at a reasonable comp.ensa-
tion to be a.pproved by the City Council.
It waa moved by Martin, seconded by Leonis, that the
request of the City Attorney be complied with, a.nd that X. R~
Young be employed to assist the City A.ttorney in the power
pla.nt matter. )[otion ~arried.
