MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CTTY OF VERNONJ
CALIFORN lA, HELD ON FRIDAY, JULY 17, 1931,

IN THE CITY OF VERNON, 4305 SANTA FE AVE. ,

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor',
J. J. Furlong.
Councilmen present:
Councilmen absent:
Furlong, Leonis, Durbin, .Martin
Levy
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Martin, that
the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dis-
pensed with. Motion carried.
Ai this time the City Clerk announced tha.t the
regular meeting of July 6, 193T, bad been adj ourned to
this date to hear the report and recommendation of the
Light and Power Committee on the bids heretofor'e referred
to it., and for action of the Council on the report and
recommenda.tion. Chairman Leonis of the Light and Power
Commit.tee then filed a written report and recommendation
to the effeC7-t that the lowest and best bid was the bid
of The Hooven, OwansJ Rentschler Co., designa.ted by it
as Proposal U.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Martin,
that the rep.or t be rece ivedand fil.ed. Motion carried.
Councilman Durbin then introduced Resolut ion
No.. 623. So resolution declaring that the lowest and best
bid was tha.t of The Hooven, Owens, Rentschler CQ., and.
rejecting all bids exce.pt the sa.id bid, and aJCal"ding the
contract to the said Hooven, Owens, Rentschler Co. fem-
the improvement therein sta.ted, and moved its adoption,
which was seconded by Councilman Martin and carried by
the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Leonis, DurbinJ
Mart in , Furlong
Noes: None
