the reading of the Minimes of the previews meeting be dis-
pensed wit.h. Met ion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 444, an ordinan.ce fixing the rate
of taxes in the Ci1y of Vernon f or the fiscal year beginning
July l, 1931., was read for second reading.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that
Ordinance No. 444 be passed for second reading. Motion
carried.

the City Enginaer, were read:

the applications be filed and the permit IS granted. Mot ion
carried.
At this time the City Attorney reported that the
amount of money in the condemnat ion proceedings for the
power p-lan1. was fuM by the Court at. '140,393.55, of which
amoUllt there is nOYl deposited with the County Clerk the sum
of 1127,691.50, which 1ea.ves a ba1anc-e due of $12. V02. 05.
It was moved by Durbin. seconded by Levy, tliat
the report of the C.i"ly Attorney be filed and that the City
Clerk be instructed to draw a check in the Sl.11'lt 0:[ 112, 1Q2. 05,
paya.b1e 'to the Coun.ty Clerk o:t Los Angeles CQunty, ao as. "to
