It was moved by Durbin, Beconded by Levy, that the
reading of the Jlinutaa of the prev ious meet tng be dispensed

At this time the City Cle~k announced that he bad,
pursuant to notice, sealed bids upon his desk for the fur-
nishing of oi1. filters for the City of Vernon.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis, that
the City Clerk open and dec1.are the bids. Motion carried.
At this time the City C1.erk opened. and publial.y
declared bids for the furnishing of certain oil filters
for the City from the following firms:

Wm. W. Nugent" (:'0. Inc.
D. G. Taylor
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that
80.11 bids be referred to the City Engineer for checking, and
to 'the City A.ttorney for repo.rt as to 1egality. :Hot ion

R.eport of the Rai1.road Commission in the matter of
the application of Los Ange1.es &: Salt Lake Railroad Company)
regarding spur track across Downey Road, was read.
It was moved by Martin, seconded by Durbin, tl:1&t
the report be received, approved and fi1.ed. Motion carried.
An order of extension of time by the Railroad Com-
mission in the matter of spur track crossing by Atchison
Topeka. &: Santa Fe Railroad across East 26th Street was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
the same be f i1ed and taken under adv isement of the Counc i1..

its adoption, which was seconded by Councilma.n Levy, and
carried.
A.t this time Councilma.n Durbin introduced Resolu-
tion No. 644, a Res01ution of the City Council of the City
. of Vernon, approving Specifications No. 27 for the furnishing
of oil motor driven centrifuges to operate. with Diese1 engines
for the Vernon municipal power plant, and moved its adoption,
which was seconded by C.ouncilman Levy, and carried.
At this time Councilman Durb in introduced Resolu-
tion No. 645, a Resolution of the City Council of the City
of Vernon, a.pproving Specifications No. 28 for the furnishing
and erect.ing of ten muffling t:ype waste heat boi1era to
operate. with Diesel engines for the Vernon munic ipal power
plant, and moved its adoptio.n, which was seconded by Council-
man Levy, and carried.
At this time Councilman Durbin introduced Resolu-
tion No. 646, & Ras01ution of the e~ty Council of the City
of Vernon deelaring the pr evail ing rate p.er diem wages f'cr
1.aboX' to be used in the erect ion of boi1ers deseribed in
Specifications No. 28, and moved its adoption, which was
aeconded by Councilman Levy, and carried.
At this time Councilman Durbin, introduced Res01u-
tion No. 641, a Resolution of the City Council of the City
of Vernon, approving Specifications No. 29 for the furnish-
ing and erect ion of one four.-motor, fifty-t on e1ee:trla
traveling crane and one hand opera'hed crane for the Vernon
municipal power pant, and moved its adoption, which was
seconded by Councilman Levy, and carried.
. At this time Councilman Durbin introduced Resa1u-
tion No. 648, a Resolution of the City Council of the City
of Vernon declaring the prevailing rate per diem wages for
labor to be used in the ereetion of cranes described in
Specifications No. 29, and moved its adoption, which was
aeconded by Councilman Levy, a.nd carried.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Martin, that the
C.ity Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for the fur-
nishing and instal.1ing of 1.ubricating oil and"fuel oil
centrit;'Qga1 motor driven centrifuges for the City of Vernon,
as. described in Spec if ica.t ions No. art of the City of Vernon,
bids to be received unti1 March 2l.at. Motion carried.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Martin, tha.t
the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for the furnishing
and erecting of boi1ers, a.s described in Specifica.tions No.
28 of the City of Vernon, bids to be r-eceived until March
2,ath. Mot ion carried.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Martin, that
the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for the furnishing
a.nd erection of' cranes, as described in Specifications No.
29 of the City of Vernon, bids to be r-eceived until March
28th. Mot ion carried.
ORDINANCN NO. 446, an ordinance amending Se~tiQn 16
of Ordinance No. 431, was read for second reading.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Martin, that
Ordina.nce No. .Q5 be passed f'or second r-ea.ding.

Chas. H. Holtz., for permit to conduct and opera.te r-estaurant
at 4401 Downey Road, recommending that the application be
denied inasmuch as 1Ir. Holtz. was not to operate the restaurant,
was read. Recommended that permit be issued to &.:Mr. .Johnson,
who is to conduct the restaurant, upon the filing by him of
application and bond.
It waa moved by Durbin, seconded by Martin, thaot the
the re,eommenda.tions of the Police Department be e:oncurred in
and permit denied to Mr. H01tz.. Motion carried.

Monkoff, for permit to haul refuse through the City, was read,
recommending that permit be denied.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that the
a.pplication be riled, and the recomme,ndation of the Police
Department concurred in, and permit denied. Motion carried.
