At this time the City Clerk amloUBced that he had
em his desk several bids fo equipment, pursuant to. not ice
initing aea~ed proposa.l.s, said bid,s being on waste heat
baiTers and cranes.
Lt was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, th&t the
Clerk ope.n and decla.re the bids. Vot ion oarried.
At this time the City Clerk opened and declared
bids for the furnishing and erecting of ten mu:f::fling type
waate heat boilers to operate with Diesel engines, for the
Vernon municipal pow-er pl.ant., pursuant to notice in.viting
seal.ed bids, from the foll.owing firms:

Consolidated Steel Corporation
It was moved by Durbin, seaonded by Kartin., that
a.ll. bids be re:f'erred to the City Engineer for checking and
report. Motion oarried.
4t this time the City Clerk opaned and dee-lared
bids for the furnishing and ereo-tion of cranea for the Vernon
muni.cipal porurer plant, pursuant to notice iaviting seal.ed bids,
from the following firms:

At this time the Cormnittae on Water and POI1ler, in '
conjunct ion with the City Engineer, reeommended that the bid..
for; oil filters, heretofore received by the City Council, 'be
rej'ec-ted, and the City Clerk be inatrueted to return the
bidders t cheeks.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
recommenda.tion of the "\}later and Power Committee be accepted
and that all bids for the furnishing of pressure crankcase
l.ubrieating oil filters be rej'ected, a.nd tha.t t.he City Cl.erk

At this time the Committ.ee on Yater and Power. in
conjunct ion with the City Engineer. reeommended to the City
Council that all bids for the furnishing of oil mQ~or driven
centr-Uugea to the City f or- the Vernon municipal paver plant
berejeated, except the bid of Hydrol Cor'pora.t ion, and thAt
the bid of' the Hydrol Corporation be &ce:epted, and that &11
cheeks Qf unsuccessful bidders be immediately returned. s;,nd
the City Attorney be instrueted to prepare the necessary
eontract. Botion carried.
