The meeting was called to order by the City CJ:.erk,
who requested n01lliua.tions from the members present f"or a
"yor Pro Tem" owing to the f"act tl1:at the Mayor was out of
the city. Councilman Levy nominated Councilman Leonie alii
Mayor Pro Tem, which nomirat ion was seconded. by Councilman
Dnrbia cd ur.tan1m:ously carried.
Councilmen present: Leonis, Durbin, llartin, Levy
Counc:Umen absent: Furlong
At this time the Committee em Light and .Power and
the Oi ty Engineer uad.e & report of the fact that the loweat
a.nd be:st bid for the construct ion of the power sta:t.ion and
cable tunnel was that of M:ittry Brothers Constrttction C01l'lp&lIy.
It was moved by ])ur.bin, seconded by Levy that the
report of the ColllJllittae be received a.nd that all. 114s be
rejeeted except the bid of M:1 ttry Brothers Construction Com-
pany a.nd tha.t it be a.warded the contract, and that. all checks
be ret.urned to the unsu(H~'essful bidders;, that the (:1 ty Attorney,
in cculjunet ion with special counsellor Young, be instructed
to draw a contrac~ to conform to the Not ice, Specif ications,
and Bid of Mittry Brothers Construction Compa.ny, and. upon
the signing of same by the contractor, that the lrayor Pro Tern
and the City <nerk be instructed to exeQu~e SaJ1le in the name
of the City. llotioncarried..
A.t this time the Committee on Light and Power, to-
gether with c'Onsu1.ting engineer Carl Heinze, made 8. report to
the City Council that the Delta...Star- Elec_tric Company was
the 101lest and beat bidder for the switchgear and applllrtenancea,
and recommended. tha.t the c::ontra.ct be awarded t o the De1.t8o-6tar
Eleatric Company.
It was moved by Durbin, seoonded by Levy, tba.t all
bids for the furnishing of switchgear and appurtena.nces be
rej ected excep.t the bid of the Delta-$tar.Electric Company
and that it be awarded the contract, and that all cheeks of
unsuccessful bidders be returned to them; that the City
A.ttorney and special counsellor Young be instructed. to draw
a. c'Ontraet for the said Delta-$tar- Electric Company and. that,
owing to the absence of the Mayor from the city, Mayor Pro Tam.
