The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, J. :r.

It. was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that
the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dis-
pensed with. Motion car'ried.
The City Clerk announced that he had upon his desk
bids from several firms, pursua.nt to notice inviting sealed
proposals for the furnishing of weather proof in.sul.ated wire
a.nd cable.
It was moved by Durbin, seaon.ded by Leonis, that
the City Clerk proceed to open and publicly rea.d the bids.
Motion carried.
The City Clerk opened a.nd pUbliJ-"read bids- for the
furnishing of weather' proof insulated wire and cable from the
following firms:

reading.

ordinance. No. 458 be passad for aecond reading. Mot ion

ORDINANCE NO. 458, an ordinance regula.t ing the
tra.nsporting of heavy vehicles with metal tires up<m and
along the streets or t.he City of Vernon was read for third
and final reading.

CityCounci~ ipeeifieations No. 44, hexetofore approved by
the Commit tee.
Councilma.n Durbin Introduced RESOLUTION NO. 676,
a resolution approving Speeifications No. 44, and moved its
a.dopt ion, which was seccond.ed by Councilman Leonis, and
carried.
Councilman Durbin introduced BESOLU'fION NO. 677,
a resolution declaring the preva.iling rate per diem wage.s
for labor to be used in the furnishing and inatalling of
hea.t. exehangers and eooling towe.rs, desc-ribed in Specifica-
tions No. 44, and moved its adoption, which wa.s seeonded by
Counc-il.ma.n Leold.s, and earried.

the City Clerk be instruc~ed to advertise for bids far the.
furnishing of labor and matercial set f:orth in Specifications
