MINUTES OF AN ADJOURBED REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, HELD ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 21,
1932, AT EIGHT O'CLOCK P. M., AT THE
CITY HALL IN THE CITY OF VERNON, 4305
SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA.

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, J. J.
Councilmen present: Furlong, Durbin, Levy
Councilmen absent: Leonis, Martin
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that
the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dis-
pensed with. Motion carried.
At this time the City Clerk announced that he
had bids upon his desk for the furnishing of power trane-
formers to the City, p~rsuant to notice inviting same.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that
the Clerk proceed to open the bids. Motion carried.
The City Clerk then read bids from the following
firms:
Maloney Electric Co.
General Electric Co.
Westinghouse Electric ~ttg. Ca.
Wagner Electric Corp.
Kuhlman Electric Co.
Allis Chalmers Mfg. Co.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that
all bids be referred to the City Engineer for checking and
report. Motion carried.

At this time the Committee on Water & Power sub-
mitted a recommendation of the City Engineer that all bids
on blast gate valves, as described in Specifications No.
47 be rejected except the bid of the Chapman Valve Mfg. Co.,
and that it be awarded the contract.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that
all bids for the furnishing of blast gate valves, as de-
scribed in Specifications No. 47, be rejected, except the
bid of the Chapman Valve Mfg. Co., and that it be awarded
the contract, and that the City Clerk be instructed to
return checks to the unsuccessful bidders. Motion carried.
It was moved
