The mee.t lng was called to order by the Jrayor,

It was moved by Durbin, sec:oDded by Levy, tha.t
the reading; of the Minutes of the previous meeting be
d.ispensed with. Botlon t:a.rried.
At this time the City Clerk announced that he
had severa.l bidB upon his desk, pursuant to not 10e, for
the furnishing a.nd instal~1ng of certain c entrilugal
pumps and mot ora.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that
the C1erk be i_t rueted to open the bids. Mot ion c'a.rried.
The City Clerk then opened and publicly read
bids from the following firms:

all bids be referrecl to the Enginee.r1ng Department for
checking and report. Motion ca.rried.
At this time the City Clerk anDourroed that it
would be necessary t 0 t:tansfer funds from. The First Wa...
t io ma.J. J3a.nk of Vernon to the Bank of Am.er i ca, Veraort
Branch, to be used for the redemption of bonds and
coupons due J"anuary 1. 1933.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin. that
the City Treasurer be a.uthoriz.ed a.nd instructed to tra.ns-
feJr $20".613.95 of City's funds fro.m The First National.
Bank of Vernon to the Bank of" America., Vernon Branch, to
ta.ke care: of interest coupo.ns and pr inaipaJ. due upon
bonds of the C1 ty January 1,. 1933. Motion carried.

At this time the Water and. l..ower Committee
P'L'6sented the recommendation of the City and: Consul.tiu.g
engil1eera on power transformera.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, 'that
the reeammendation of the engineers be acc:epted and that
the a:ontrac~ for the furnishing and del iv eri Dg of power
transformers, in accordance with Specifications No. 48,
be awarded to the Moloney Electric: Company, and. t.b.at all
other bids be rej"ea.ted, and thLt cheeks be returned to
unsuec:.easful bidders. Mot ion carried.
At this time the City Engineer and Consulting
Engineer recommended to the City Council, the same hav-
ing the appr ova.l of the Water and Power Commit tee, that
the office of general line foreman be created in the
Power Department, at a salary n.ot to exceed 1275.00 per
mouth, and the City Engineer be empowered to employ the
desired man for that position,
It was moved by Dt.1rbin, secon:ded by Levy, that
the recrommendtrtion of the t:ity Engineer and Consu1ting
Engin.ear be concurred. ia, and that the office of general
l.ine foreman be crreated in the Power Departmelrt, at. a
salary not to exeeed $275.00 per month, and that the City
Engineer be empowered to emplOY the desired man far that
