It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonie, that
the communica.tion be fi1.ed. Mot ian carried.

It was moved by-Durbin, seconded Q Leonis, tha.t
the appllea.tions be fil.ed a.nd permits issued. Vot ion ca.r-
rled.
At this time the Committee on Wa.ter &- Power and
the City Engineer recommended that all. bids for the furnish-
ing of' raw water pumps be rejee:ted except the bid of Byrou
Jackson Pump Co., and that all checks be r'eturned to un-
successful bidders.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis, that
the recommendat ion of the Water & Power Commit tee and the
City Engineer be accepted, and that a.l1 bids be rejected.
with the exception of the bid of Byron Jackson Pump Compa~,
and that they be a:wuded the contraC't for raw water pumps,
for the sum of '5,288.40, they being the lowest and beat
bidder, and that all c:hecks be returned to tmSuca:a.saful. bid-
ders. Motion carried.
At this time the City Engineer &n1!1Cunced, pursuant
to irurtruc.tioIlS from the City Council, that he. had employed
Bay G. Chester aBe inspee:tor for the installa.tion of the
machin,e:ry in the power plant., at a monthly salary of $200.00
beginning December 24, 1.932, a.nd requested the Council to
appr ove his act ion.
It was moved by Durbin, aeconded by Leonis, that
the ac-tion of the City llingineer in employing. Ra\v G. Chester
be approve.d, at a. sa.l.a.ry of $200.00 per momh, beginr.dng
