Councilman present: Furlong, Durbin, Levy Councilmen absent: Leonis, Peralta Ii was moved by Levy, seoonded by Durbin, that the reading of the Minutes o~ the previous meeting be dispensed with. At this time the CityErgirJ:ler made a written r'eport, regarding Speeificat ions No. 75, a.nd r'ecommended to the City Council that the contrac:rts be awarded to the following firms, they being the lowest and best bidders: For Item I under Specifications No. 75, to the Patrol Corporation for the furnishing o~ Diesel fuel ail, its bid being 67 cents per barrel Gn blended grade and 94-1/2 cents per barrel on straight run gra.de; delivery to be made by tank car- f. a.b. the Power Plant. Far' Item II under Speoifieations No. 75, for the furnishing of Diesel bearing oil, this produc~ being knawn by the trade name, of "Shell Diesel Engine Oil No.3"; the price being 26 cetltts per' gallon in barre1s and 24 centl per gallon by tank car f. o. b. the Power Plant, to Shell. Oil Company. For Item III under Specifications No. 75, for the furnishing of light bearing oil of dynamo and mot or' or tur- bine grade, this produot being known by the trade name of "Shell Oil XL-75d; the price being 24 cents per gallon in barre1s delivered f.o.b. the PowerP1ant, to Shell Oil Company. For Item IV under Specifications No. 75, to the Texas Company for the furnishing of Diesel Cylinder Oil, this pr'oducrt being known b}' the trade name of "ursa Oil - Heavy"; the price being: 45-1/2. cents per gal 1. an in barrels l.ess $1.10 for return of barrel, or a net pr ioe of 43-1/2 cents per gaJ.- ~on in barrels, or 39 cents per gall.on in tank oars, all f.o.b. the PO'Ner Plant. It wa.s moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the recommendation of the City Engineer be coneurred in a.nd that all. bids be rejected exeept the bids of the firms mentioned in said City Engineert s recommendation, and that the contract be awarded to the several bid.ders re.1"erred to in the City Engineer t s recommendat ion, and that all checks be returned to unsuccessful bidders. A.t this time the City Engineer and the Consulting EngineeJ:" jointly submitted the written recommendation for the acceptance of bids under Specifications No. 74 and setting forth their reasons for said recommendations. Sa.id engineera recommended that the awards be made as f0110ws under Specifica- tions No. 74: -1- :~09 Items I. and II. To Kelman Electric and Manu- facturing c-ompany, the lowest responsible bidder, for- eight Overhead Entranee SWitch Houses and appurtenances, together with Type F-2 Circuit Breakers, for the lump sum price of t7.265.00 :r.o.b. City of Vernon Warehouse; del ivery to start in 35 days and be completed in 65 daya; and for furnishing and delivering four Underground En- trance SWitch Houses with appurtenanoes, together with Type F-2 Circuit Breakers, for the lump sum price of $3,730.00 f.o.b. City of Vernon Warehouse; delivery to start in 35 days and be c omplet ed in 65 days. It was further reeommended that the award be made with the right reserved for a period of ninety days for' the City of Vernon to order 0119 or more, but not exceeding 12,additional switoh houaes and appurtenances. in accordanoe with Item I of Specifioations No. 74. with Type F-2 Circuit Breakera at the price each of $905.00; and Itmn II of Speoifioations No. 74, with Type F-2. Cir- cuit Breakers, at a price each of $933.00. It was moved by Durbin. seconded by Levy, that the recommenda.tion of the City Engineer and Consulting Engineer be concurred in and that all bids be r'ej ected except the bid of Kelman Eleetric and Manufaeturing Com- pany, as mentioned in said Engineers' recommendation, and that the contract be awarded to Kelman El.ectric and Kanu- faeturing Company, and that al1. checks be r'eturned to un- successful bidders. }lotion carried.
