reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed

It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that
the same be ~i1ed. Eat ion carried.
Communica'lion from Finke1stein Foundry Supp1y Co. ,
for permissio.n for tempor&r^Y use of back half of property
adjoining 2323 East 27th Street, to relieve the congested
condit ion in their yard, was read.
It Vias moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that
the communication be filed and the permit granted. Motion
carried.

requesting permission to store scrap steel, baled and unbaJ.ed,
on property of Southern Pac ific Compa.ny across from plant
of Los A.nge~es By-Produats Company, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that
the same be; referred to the City Attorney. Motion carried.

incinerator and dump, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Levy, that the

for- permit to operate &- pl.a.nt for the manufacture of 3.2%
wine, at 4515 East 48th Street, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
the same be filed. Mot ion carried.
eommunication from Postal Telegrsph Company, re-
questing that fire alarm wires be transferred to another
position on poles along south side of Leonis Boulevard, be-
tween Boyle Avenue a.nd Downey Road, was read.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that
same be referred to the City Engineer a.nd City Attorney.

ing permit to haul refuse from premises of 2029 East 45th
Street, was read.

with Light & Power Department was r'ead.

of Municipalities, regarding' monthly meeting to be held 3une

ORD~ANCE NO. 462, an ordinance prohibiting the
condug~j~ and carrying on of metal junk yards in the City of'
vernogalHin said Ord.inance set forth, was read for second
reading.
It Was moved by Durb in, seconded by Levy J that
Ordinance No. 462 be passed for seoond reading. Motion
carried.
ORDINA.'NCE NO. 462, an ordinanoe prohibiting the
conducting and carrying on of metal junk yards 1n the City of
Vernant eKcept as in said Ordinance set forthi 'lias read for
third and 1"inal reading.

ORDINANCE NO. 463, an ardinance af the City af
Vernan praviding far the cr4atian in said Oity af ane zone
in which are segregated certain industries ar businesses
that may be carried an in the Oi ty af Vernan in said district,
prohibiting the carrying on of same in other Po.rtians of the
City, and prescribing penalties for the vialation af the pra-
visians of said ardinance, was read far first reading.

ordinance No. 463 be pas. sed for first reading. Motian carried.

Ap~lication 4091: of Sterling Meat Company, for permit to
install refrigerat ion system at 2501 East Vernon Avenue.
Approximate cost 13,000.00.
A1Jplication 4092: of Wayne Company, for permit to install
1000 gal. ~asoline tank and pump for Ci'ty of Vernon. Approxi-
mate cost 3215.00.
Application 4093: of DistributorsPaeking Co., for permit to
move office on property located at 3301 East Vernon Avenue.
Approximate cost $1400.00.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
applications be referred to the Fire Department. Motion carried.
Application 4094: of Tux Ginger Ala Company, for permit to
install. 12 horse power boiler at 4515 Eajl;t 48th Street, was
read. The City Engineer states that the State Boiler Inspector
should approve same.
It was moved by Durbin, sec onded by ~evy, that
application 4094 be fil.ed a.nd permit issued for the install.ing
of said boiler upon the approval. of the State Boiler Inspector.

Communication from Canada Ginger Ale, Ine., requesting
per.mi 1. f"or the sale of beer and wine in a.cc or dance with Federal
laws, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
same be filed. Kat ion carried.
At this time the City Treasurer requested permission
to transfer from the Amerioan Trust Company of San Franc isco,
to The First National Bank of Vernon, ~25 000.00 to the credit
of the Light & Power Construction FumhYJ..xxxx
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
G:ity Treasurer be instructed to make the tra.nsfer.. Motion
carried.
Demands on the Genera.l Fund, in the sum 0.1' $4,395.85,
consisting of the fol1.awing items, were read.:

It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
demands be all.owed and warrants drawn for the same. Motion
carried.
