the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dis-
pena:ed with. Mot ion carried.
Communication from Vernon Department of Light &
Bower, submitting proposed agreement between W. M. Comstock,
Receiver, United States Building & Loan Association, and
City of Vernon, for perpetual easement and right-of-wa;r for
pole 1ine, was read.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Pera.lta, tha.t
the same be referred to the City Attorney. Motion carried.
eircular letter from Division of Highways, State
of California, regarding Sena.te Bill No. 563, was read.
It was moved byPera.lta, seconded by Levy, that
the same be referred to the City Attorney. Motion carried.
Communication from C. O. Sparks, Contractor, re-
questing permission to store maohinery and equipment. and
operate por~able a~phalt plant on property of th~ Cit.y of
Los Angeles, south of Ea.st 26th Street and west of Downey
Road, was read.

Communication from Merchants and Manufacturers
Association, requesting permission t.o conduct an office on
the second floor of building located on the northwest corner
of' Vernon and Soto Streets, for the purpose of rendering
pe.rsonnel services to meat packing industry, was read.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Peralta, that.
the communication be filed and the permit granted. Motion
carried.

conduct refrigeration business at 2034 East 38th Street,
also to handle a line of pipe. motors and compressors and
