The meet ing was ca.l~ed to order by the Kayar,

It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed
with. Motion carried.
Communicst ion from Southern California Gas Company,
with bond of llassaehuaetts Bonding ud Insurance Company to
be substituted in p~a.ce of Independence Indemnity C'ompany
bond to cover street escavat ions, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
same be referred to the City Attorne,y. Vot ion carried.
Communication from Stauffer Chemical Company, stat-
ing that they have appointed W. M. Bostock, licensed structural
engineer, to prepare plans and specifications for repairs to
their buildings, was received.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that the
same be l' i~ed. Vot i on carried.
Communication from City of Burbank, regarding de-
l.inquencies under Improvement Bond Act of 19~5" was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
same be fi~ed. Motion carried.
Communication from the County Counsel. of Los Angeles
County, explaining basis used by the County in making alloca-
tions from $850,000 fund allocated by Board of Supervisors
to certain improvements districts, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis, that
the same be fi~ed. Hotion carried.
Communication from the City of Inglewoad, so~iciting
electric energy from City of Vernon. and at what rate, wae read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
Same be filed. Motion carried.
COIll1mnication from. Board ofll?ublic Works, Los AngeI.es,
regarding sewage., as per report attached, was read.

Communication from Alice Pillsbury. for per.mit to
conduet and operate ~unch sta.nd at 25th and Alameda Street-s,
was read.

the same be re:ferred to the Fire Department for investiga-
tion and report. Motion carried.
Communication from Mrs. Florence Cranston, for
permit to operate a fountain ~unch at 4533 Produce Plaza,
:formerly operated under the name of the Guest Drug Com-
pany, was read.

the same be: referred to the Police Department for investiga-

Street, was read.

same be granted suyjeet to the approval of the City Attorney
