The meeting was called to order by the Mayor,
:I. :r. Furlong.
Councilmen present: Furlong, Durbin, Levy,
Pera1ta
Councilmen absent: Leonis
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be
dispensed with. Kotion carried.
Communication from Frank E. Wilmot, regarding the
operation of oil refinery on premises of Hercules Oil Com-
pany-, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
same be r-eferred to the Fire Chief. Motion carried.
Communicat ion from E. J. May, for permit to operate.
a meta11urgical and assaying 1aborat ory at 2312 East 52nd
Street, was read.
It Was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
the communication be fi1ed and permit granted. Motion car-
ried.
Communication from Plant Rubber & Asbestos Worka,
for permit to conduct an asbestos insulati~n and mechanical
rubber goods business at 2120 East 25th Street, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
the communicat ion be filed and permit granted. Kotion car-
ried.
Cammunication from Gay Engineering Company, for
permit to hau1 refuse from premises at 2.550 Santa Fe Avenue,
was read.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Peralta, that
the communicat ion be filed a.nd permit gra.nted. Mot ion
carried.
The following applications, all having the approval
of the C1 ty Engineer, were read:
Application 4240: of U. S. Lime Products Company, for build-
ing permit to make a.ddit ions to warehouse at 1840 East 25th
Street. Approximate cost $1200.00.
Application 4243: of Pacific Fruit Express, for permit to
wreck platfcmn at 4224 District B1vd. Approximate cost
$1100,; 00.
.A.pplicat ion 4244: of Bank of America, for building permit
to repair quake damages at bank building, 2675 Santa Fe Avenue.

Appl.ication 4245: of Wilshire Oil Company, for building
permit for the construction of truck sheds at 2455 Bast 27th

Street. Approximate coat $4000.00.
Ap'2lication 4246: of ',:Plant Rubber &: Asbestos 'Narks, for
building permit for alterations at 2120 East 25th street.
Approximate cost $200.00.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Peralta, that
the applications be filed and permit a granted. Motion car-
ried.
Demands on the Light &: Power Construction Fund, in
the sum of $148,314.50, and demands of Light &; ]?ower Depart-
ment on the General Fund, in the sum of $484.11, were :read.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Peralta, tha-t the
demanda be all.owed and warrants drawn. Motion car'ried.
It Was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
meeting adjourn. Mot10n carried.
