It was moved by Levy, seconded by PeraLta, that the
reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed
with. Motion carried.
At this time the City Clerk a.nnounced that this waa
the time and place designated by law for the canva.ssing of the
votes of the municipal elect ion held Apr'il 9, 1934.
After canvassing of said votes, Councilman Levy
introduced Reaolut ion No .746, decl&r-1Bg the resul.ts of the
election of April 9, 1934., and moved its adoption, which 'lLa.s
secollded by Councilman Durbin, and carried.
Communication, with agreement attached, with ref-
erence to the city's wires crossing the right of way of the
Atchison, Topeka &: Santa Fe, hear Robart Station, was read.
Same having the approval of the City Attorney as
to form, it was moved by Durbin, seconded by Peral.taiJ, that
the communication be filed and the W~or and City Clerk be
authoriz.ed to sign the agreement. Motion carried.
Communication from H. B. R. Briggs, Acting Post-
master, Los Angeles, regarding Vernon post office station,
was read.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Pera1ta, that the
same be filed a.nd referred to the City Attorney. )[otion
carried.
Communication fram the Vernon Industrial Develop-
ment Association, with copy of resolution regarding certain
agreement dated .1anuary 23, 1933, was read.
It waa moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, tha.t the
communicat ion be filed. Mot ion carried.
Councilman Durbin introduced Ordinance No.. 473, and
moved its adoption, which was seconded by Couae ilman Levy and
pa&sed for first reading.
Communication fram Chas. W. Kennicott, requesting
permit to haul refuse from premises a.t 4905 Santa Fe Avenue,
VIas read.
It Was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
communication be filed and permit granted. Motion carried.

Communication from Farley Outfitting Company,
902. South .Broadway, Los Angeles, for permit to operate
truck equipped with loud speaker to be played in front of
various manufacturing plants during noon hour and at clos-
ing time, a.nd to distribute literature, was read.
It wa.s moved by Durbin, seconded by Peralta, that
the communication be filed and the applicat ion denied, as
same is in vio1ation of City Ordinance. Yotion carTied.

Company, with report of assessa.ble pr~opert ies within the
City of Vernon for year 1934-35, was read.

Report of theP01ice Department on the applicat ion
Products Company for the distribut ion of beer from
at 4561 East 48th Street, wherein the Police De-

RESOLUTION NO. 747, a resolution approving Specifica-
tions No. 82 for the furnishing to the city of Vernon of
Diesel fuel oi1, was read.
It VIas moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that
Resolution No. 747 be approved. Motion carried.
It Was moved by Durbin, seconded by Peralta, that
the City C1erk be author i:&ed and inatructed to advert iee
for bids for the furnishing and de11very of Diesel fuel oil.
in accordance with Specifications No. 82. Motion carried.
It was moved by Pera.lta, seconded by Levy, that
the City Clerk be instructed to buy a master clock for the
Fire Department a.t a price not to exceed $135.00. Mot ion
carried.
At this ti.m.e Minutes of the Committee on Water and
Power a.s of April 10, 1934, were read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the
sa.me be approved. :Mot ion carried.
It was moved by ~bin, seconded by Levy, that the
City Attorney be instructed to draw a contract for the leas-:-
iug of a post hol.e digger, with opt ion therein to purchase
same at the end of the three months t period. and that if the
City exercised the option the rent charged for the three
months be appl.ied on the purchase price of the equipment,
the tota?l price, including rent, not to exceed t40~.OQ.
Mot ion carried.
Report of the Pol.ice Department for the month of
March, 1934, was read.
It wa.s moved by Levy. seconded by Peralta, that
