It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Peralta,
that the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be
dispensed with. Motion carried. -
Communication from the Post Office Department,
W'a.shiugton , D. C., acknowledging receipt of letter from
the City of Vernon stat iDg it had no money available for
remodeling post office quarters, was read.
It was moved by Peral:ta, seconded by Durbin,
that the communication be filed. Motion carried.
C.ommunication from Central Manufacturing Dis-
trict, requesting an emergency water line connec.tion at
Fruitland and Downey Road, Was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Peralta, that
the same be referred to the City Engineer. Motion carried.

was read.

the oommunicat ion be filed and the permit granted. Mot ian

Communication from Morttis Korn, requesting permis-
sion to burn ten old wagons on property adj oiaing city
incinerator on Eaat 25th Street, was read.
It Was moved by Durbin, seconded by Peralta, that
the communication be filed and permit granted subject to the
supervision of the Fire Department as to the method of burn-

to be a part of the Los Angeles County Free Library System.
It was moved by Pera1ta, seconded by Durbin, that
RESOLUTION NO. 75& be placed on the ta.ble to be taken up again
far final action of the City Council on the 27th day of August,
19M, and that. there being no newspaper printed, published
and/or cirQul.ated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk shall.
