Motion carried. At this t lme the City Clerk presented a compromise creditors' agreement with McLaughlin Glass C.ompany,a.nd reeoImIlended it s adopt ion. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the Mayor be authorized to sign the compromise on bega.J.f of the City. Motion carried. A.t this time the \Vater and Power Committee pre- sented to the City Council Specifications No. 86, and recom- mended their a.dopt ion. Councilman Durbin introduced RESOLUTION NO. 768, So resolut ion of the City Council of the City of Vernon, approv ing Specifications No. 86. and moved its adopiaOr;1. which was seconded by C.ouncilman Levy, and carried. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for the. furnish- ing of the merchandise set forth in aid Specifications No. 86 - the bids to 'be opened A.ugust 20, 193~. Motion carried. At this t]me a letter from the City Engineer in reference to the purchase of a.dditiona1 Diesel engines and equipment was read. It wa.s moved by Levy, seconded 'by Durb in, that the same be r"eferred to the Wa.te.r and Power Committee. Mot ion carried. Communication from Los Angeles County Auditor, setting forthevarious valuat ions of certain districts within the City of Vernon for the guidance of the City Council in fixing the tax rates for 1935-36, was read. It was moved 'by Levy, seconded by Durbin, that the C'ommunication of the County Auditor- be filed. llotion carried. , ORDINBCE NO. 485, an ordinance fixing the tax. rate for the year 1935-36 was read.
