The. meeting was called to order by the Mayor,

It was moved by Peralta, seconded by Durbin, that the
reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed
with. Motion carried.

An anonymous communication from residents' of West
Los Angeles regarding noise made by the power plant, was read.

. Communication from VI. Ross Campbell, requesting
permission to place signs on several pieces of property within
the city, described in the communication~ was read.

East Slauson Avenue, was read, recommending granting of application.

Recommendation of W. N. JOhnson, Chief Electrical
~ineer, that Thomas Jackson, telephone operator, be given a
$25.00 per month increase,'upon assuming other clerical duties
in the City Clerk'~ office, was read.' The recommendation was
approved by T. J. ~'urlong, City Clerk.

recommendation of the Chief Electrical Engineer and the City
Clerk be approved and the increase of salary, to take effect
