Mr. Leonis then called the meeting to order. It was moved by Levy, seconded by Peralta, that the reading of'the MInutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Motion carried. Communication from Simmons Brick Company was read. It was moved bY Durbin, seconded by Peralta, that the :Same be referred to the Committee of the Whole. Communication from CitY'Engineer regarding the pro- posed widening of Vernon Avenue, between Alameda and Santa Fe Avenue, was read. ,It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Peralta, that the same be filed. Motion carried. . At this time Councilman Durbin introduced RESOLUTION NO. 828,apPrOvingpla.ns a:rid:speci.f1cations for the widening of Vernon Avenue between Alameda Street and Santa Fe Avenue. It was moved bY Levy, seconded by Peralta, that RESOLUTION NO. 828 be adopted. Motion carried. Councilman Durbih then introduced RESOLUTION NO. 829, authorizing the C1 ty Clerk to sign a contract in the 282 .- name of the City withtne Department of Public Works of the State of California. It was moved by DUrbin, seconded by Levy, that RESOLUTION NO. 829 be adopted., M?tion carried. Communication from T. M. MCComb, power plant engineer, recolnInendlng acceptance of centrifuge from Sharples Specialty Co. on Specifications No. 86, was read. It was moved by DUrbin, seconded by Peralta, that the communication be filed and the recommendation concurred in. Motion carried. Communication from T. M.
