MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR :MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIt OF THE CITY OF VERNON
HELD MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 1938, AT THREE 0 I

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, J. J.
Furlong.
Councilmen present: Fu~long, Leonis, Scheider, Peralta
Councilmen absent: LeVY.
It was moved by S~heid~r, seconded by Peralta that the
re~ding of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with.
Motion carried.

ORDINANCE NO. 519, an ~rdinance approving an agreement
between the City of Los Angeles ~nd the City of Vernon was read
for the second reading.
It was moved by Scheid~r, seconded by Peralta that
Ordinance No. 519 be passed 'for second reading. Motion carried.
Ordinance No. 519, an ordinance approving an agreement
between the City of Los Angeles and the City of Vernon for sewer
dispos~l was read for the t~ird ~nd final reading.
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Peralta that
Ordinance No. 519 be adopted. Mqtion carried by the following votes:
AYES: Furlopg, Leonie, Scheider, Peralta
NOES: None
Absent: Levy. i
A communication from Haskins & Sells regarding Edison'
lease was read.

Councilman Peralta introduced Resolution No. 930, a
resolution approving the budget requirements for the City for the
year 1938-39, and moved its adoption, which was seconded by Council-
man Scheider, and carried.
Resolution No. 931, a resolution fixing the salary of
Thomas C. Jackson, Deputy City Clerk, at $150.00 per month, was read.
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Peralta that resolu-
tion No. 931 be adopted. Motion carried.
Resolution No. 932, a resolution increasing the salary of
L. C. Freeman, a member of the Fire Department, to a total of $190.00
per m9nth, was read.
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Peralta that resolu-
tion No. 932 be adopted. Motion carried.
Resolution No. 933, a resolution fixing the salary of
L. V. Olson, draftsman in the City Engineer's office, at $170.oe,per
month, was read. .
It was ~oved by Scheider, seconded by Peralta that resolu-
tion No~ 933 be adopted. Motion carried.
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Peralta that the
meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
