MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ~
HELD MONDAY ~ AUGUST 29th~ 1938, AT NINE
D'CLOCK A. M., AT THE CITY HALL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON, 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON,
CALIFORNIA.

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, J. J.
Furlong.
Councilmen present: Furlong, Peralta, Scheider
Councilmen absent: Leonis ~ Levy
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Peralta that the read-
ing of the Minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Motion
carried.
ORDINANCE No. 520, an Ordinance fixing the rate of taxes
and levying taxes for the fiscal year beginning July l, 1938, was
read for the second reading.
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Peralta that ordin-
ance No. 520 be passed for the second reading. Motion carried.
Ordinance No. 520, an ordanance fixing the rate of taxes
and levying taxes for the fiscal year 1938, was read for the third
and final reading.
It was moved by Peralta, seconded by Scheider that Ordin-
ance No. 520 be adopted. Motion carried by the following vote:
