MEE'tING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, HELD TUESDAY, May
9, 1939, AT THE HOUR OF THREE O'CLOCK P .:M.

VERNON, CALIFORlfiA.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, J. J.
Furlong.
Councilmen present: Furlong, Scheider, P..lta, Levy.
Councilmen absent:n Leonis
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Levy that the
reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with.
Motion carried.
Resolution No. 976, a resolution of theClt,- Council
of the Oi ty of Vernon, withdrawing from the Los Angeles County
Free Library System, and notifying the Board. of Supe~lsors of
the County of Los Angeles that the City of Vernon no longer de-
sires to be a part of the Los Angeles Free Library System, was
read.
It was moved by Levy, secQnded by Peralta that said
resolution No. 976 be passed. Motion carried by the following
