MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON~ HELD ON
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29, 1942 ~ AT THE HOUR OF

The City Clerk called the meeting to order and requested the ap-
pointment of a Mayor Pro Tem for the meeting.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Scheider that Peralta be ap-
pointed Mayor Pro!em for the meeting. Motion carried.
The Mayor Pro Tem called the meeting to order.
It was_moved by Scheider, seconded by Levy that the Minutes of
the Meeting of December 15, 1942 be approved. Motion carried.
Communication from City Engineer requesting authority to employ
Norman S. Marchment as Assistant Engineer at a salary of *225.00 per
month, effective December 22, 1942, was read.
It was moved by Levy, seconded by Peralta that t~e communication
be filed and the Engineer be instructed to employ Norman i:). Marcbment at
a salary of $225.00 per month.
Demands on the General Fund in the sum of $9,620.65, consisting
of the following items, were read:
Payroll
Fire Department
Police Department
City Clerk
Street and Water Dept.
City Treasu.r.er
Police Court
Janitor
Engineering Department
Building Department
Light & PQwer Department
Health Department
City Attorney
Civilian Defense

It was moved by Levy, seconded by Scheider that the demands be
allowed and warrants drawn. .Motion carried.
It was moved by Scheider, seconded by Levy that the meeting
