MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY
C OUNC IL OF THE CITY OF VERNON HELD ON
OCTOBER 30, 1944 at 4:00 P. M. AT THE OFFICE
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE
VERNON, CALIFORNIA.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor J. B. Leonis.
It was moved by Poxon, seconded by Peralta, that the minutes
of the previous meeting be approved. Motion carried.
Mayor J. B. Leonis, presented a letter to the City Council
from H. L. Masser, Southern California Gas Company agent for Rubber
Reserve Company, regarding an 8t fire connection at the Wilshire Oil
Company's tank car loading raCk, which was read.
It was moved by Poxon, seconded by Peralta that this matter
be referred to theCi.ty attorney and E. R. Young, special Counsel for
the City of Vernon. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 575, an ordinance granting the Union Pacific
Railroad Company a spur track franchise across Downey Road, was read for
fir s treading.
It was moved by Poxon, seconded by Peralta that Ordinance No.
575 be passed for first reading. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 1258, a Resolution authorizing the Mayor and City
Cl erk to sign for.. and on 'Qe'halfof the city, a license to be granted by
the Department of Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles to construct
a power line on the city's high tension right-of-way from Slauson Avenue,
was read.
It was moved by peralta, seconded by Poxon that Resolution No.
1258 be adopted. Motion carried.
