MINUTES OF ADJ OURNED MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ~
HELD ON JULY 29th, 1947 at 2:30 P.M.
IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
4305 Santa Fe Avenue
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Leonis, Anderson, Trowbridge, Furlong and Mailliard
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor J. B. Leonis.
It was moved by Anderson, seconded by Trowbridge~ that the
minutes of the previous meeting be approved. Motion carried.
. RESOLUTION NO. 1345, a resolution authorizing and instructing
the Mayor and City Clerk to petition the Public Utilities Commission of the
State of California to require the Southern Pacific Railroad Company to change
and rebuild the grade of their entire road bed, tracks and other structures
and facilities so that the entire width of Alameda Street can be paved and
used for vehicular traffic, was read.
It was moved by Trowbridge, seconded by Furlong, that Resolution
No. 1345 be adopted. Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Leonis, Anderson, Trowbridge
Furlong and Mailliard
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
It was moved by Anderson, seconded by Furlong, that E. R. Young
be employed to assist the City Attorney in :gIesentingthe matter before the
railroad commission. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it
was moved by Anderson, seconded by Mailliard~ that the meeting adjourn.
Motion carried.
