Francis Bates City Engineer, recommend- ing that the Vernon Paving Company be granted a 60. day extension of time for the completion of the improvement work in Hampton Street, and Fruitland Avenue, was read. It was moved by Trowbridge, seconded by Mailliard that the communication of the City Engineer be filed, and that a 60 day extension of time be granted the Vernon Paving Company for the completion of the improvement work in Hampton Street, and Fruitland Avenue. Motion carried. Communication from Owens Parks Lumber Company in regards . to parking conditions on Ross Street, and requesting permissiqp to erect a timber barrier as an extension of street curbing which ends a few feet south of 38th Street, was read. It was moved by Trowbridge seconded by Anderson. tha t the communication from Owens Parks Lumber ~ompany be filed, and ihe matter be referred to the City Engineer, and Police Department. Motion carried. Communica tion from J. T. J enk1ns Company, requesting a permit to conduct a motor truek distributors sales and serviee business at 2160 E. 25th Street, was read. It was moved by Mailliard, seeonded by Trowbridge that the eommunieation of J .T. Jenkins Company be filed, and the matter be referred to the Fire Department for report. Motion earried. Communication from Champion Armature Corporation, requesting ehange in curb painting at 4632 Pacifie Blvd., was read! It was moved by Anderson, seeonded by Trowbridge that the eommunication of Champion Armature Corporation be filed, that the matter be referred to the Police Department. Motion carried. Communication from the Americaa Can Company, requesting curb painting at 4801 Santa :Ire Avenue, was read. It was moved by Anderson, seconded by Trowbridge that the communication of the Ameriean Can Company be filed, and the matter be referred to the Poliee Department. Motion carried. Communication from Asher and Doris Goodriek, requesting a permit to operate Adkints Kitchen at 330lE. Vernon Avenue, was read. It was moved by moved by Trowbridge, seconded by billiard that the co~unication of Asher and Doris GoodriCk be filed, and the matter be referred to the Po1iee Department with power to act. Motion earried. Communieation from William W. Emery, requesting a permit to operate a luneh truek within the eity, was read. It was moved by hilliard, seeonded by Anderson, that the communi eat ion of William W. Emery be filed, and the matter be referred to the Police Department with power to aet. Motion carried. Communication ~rom William Davis, requesting a permit to peddle brooms within the city, was read. Communication ~rom Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co. requesting a permit to haul re~use ~rom premises o~ 4440 E. 49th Street, along and upon the streets o~ the City o~ Vernon, was read. It was moved by Mail1iard, seconded by Anderson that the communication o~ Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co., be ~iled, and permit granted. Motion carried. Communication ~rom &. A. Heinze, Consulting Engineer, recommending that the City accept the o~fer o~ the International Electric Company ~or ~ive centri~uges (salvage) which were a part o~ the original equipment installed at the Vernon Diesel Plant, was read. It was moved by Trowbridge, seconded by Mailliard that the o~~er o~ the International Electric Company be accepted ~or the purchase o~ ~ive centri~uges at a total price o~ $130.00. Allplication 14612 - Bohemian Distributing Company, to connect additional plumbing facilities at 2124 E. 51st Street. Alllllication 14618 - John Deere Killeter Company, to connect additional plumbing facilities to sewer at 5525 Downey R~ad. It was moved by Trowbridge, seconded by MailliaDd, that applications 1~05 to 14618, incl., be filed and permits be granted. Motion carried. Report of the Police Department was read. It was moved by Anderson, seconded by Trowbridge, that the report ot the Police Department, be filed. Motion carried. Report of the Commijtee on street Maintenance, Building, Purchasing and Library' was read. It was moved by Mail1iard, seconded by Trowbridge, that the report be filed. Motion carried.
