Communication and report from City Attorney in regards
to a communication from Los Angeles County Flood Control District and
Tax Agreement for Los Angeles River Parcels lio.428 and 640 and request-
ing approval of selling price pursuant to Section 3775 of the Revenue and
Taxation Code. The City Attorney reported as, follows. It appears from
the contract that the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, desires
to purchase the two :parcels set forth in Exhibit A on the contract and
will pay the sum of $10.00 each. From the information furnished in the
letter and in the contract; it is impossible for me to determine the
extent of the parcels which the Los Angeles County Flood Control proposes
to purchase, and it is also impossible to determine the nature of the title
which they are purchasing under the tax deed. I think both of these matters
could be determined by the City Engineer and I suggest that the matter
be referred to him for the purpose of determining the size and location
of the parcels which they propose to purchase, and also the nature of the
title which they are purchasing. That is, it may be the fee title of the
property over which the Flood Control has an easement for flood control
purposes, or it may be property over which the flood control district has
no right at the present time. Nor does the communication or contract
disclose who the former owner of the property was. These matters maybe
important to the City Council and I suggest they be investigated before
giving your consent to the agreement.
It was moved by Trowbridge, seconded by Mailliard that
the above matter be referred to the City Engineer for report. Motion
carried.

OfMelveney & Myers would present Resolution calling Sewer Bond Election
at the next meeting.
