MINUTES OF AN ADJOURN.ED REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
HELD ON JANUARY 2~1 1952 AI 12:30 O'CLOCK
P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY
HALL LOCATED AT 1+305 SANTA FE AVENUE,
VERNON " CALI}i'ORNIA
COUNCIL PRESENT: Anderson, Furlong, Mailliard, poxon, Trowbridge
COUNCIL ABSENT : None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor R.J. Furlong.
Mayor Furlong announced that discussions were in
order regarding the filing of an application to the Metropolitan
Water District to annex the corporate area of the City of Vernon
to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
After due deliberation and consideration, it was moved
by Trowbridge and seconded by Poxon Resolution No. 1571, making
application to the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water
District of Southern California for consent to annex the corporate
area of the City of Vernon to the Metropolitan Water District of
Southern California be approved and adopted. Motion carried.

Noes: None
Absent: None
Resolution No. 1571
~, it is deemed necessary and adviseable to
petition the Board of Directors of The Metropolitan Water
District of Southern California for consent to annex the cor-
porate area of the City of Vernon to The Metropolitan Water
District of Southern California;
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that the City
Council of the City of Vernon in the name and on behalf of the
City of Vernon does hereby apply to the Board of Directors of
The Metropolitan District of Southern California for consent
to annex the corporate area of the City of Vernon to !he
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; and,
It is further resolved that the City Clerk of the
City of Vernon is hereby authorized and directed to transmit
to the Board of Directors of The Metropolitan Water District
of Southern California a certified copy of this resolution, and
that such certified copy when so transmitted shall constitute
the application of the City of Vernon to the Board of Directors
of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for
such consent.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting, it was moved by Trowbridge, seconded by Mailliard
that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
