MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
HELD MARCH 25, 1953 AT 4 O'CLOCK
P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHANBERS OF THE
CITY HALL LOCATED AT Jf30S SANTA FE
AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA
COUNCIL PRESENT: Anderson, Furlong, Mailliard, poxon, Trowbridge
COUNCIL ABSENT : None
Upon unanimous witten consent of all the members of the
City CounCil, Mayor Furlong call this special meeting for 4 o!-clock P.M.,
Wednesday, March 25, 1953 for the purpose of considering the question
of appealing from the judgement of the Superior Court of the State of
California in and for the County of Los Angeles, in case No. 558132
entitled "City of Vernon vs. City of Los Angeles".
Special Counsel, Edward R. Young, addressed the members
of the City Council on the judgement rendered, and upon matters of an
appeal from the judgement.
After due deliberation and discussion of the matter,
ij was moved by Anderson, seconded by TrOlvbridge and unanimously carried,
that Mr. Edward R. Young be employed as Special Counsel in the matter
of appearances and preparing an appeal in Case No. 558132, "City of
Vernon vs. City of Los Angelesl1.
There being no further business, it was moved by
Trowbridge, seconded by Poxon that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.

ALL COUNCILMEN TO THE HOLDING OF SAID SPECIAL I1EETING.

2 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of
3 Vernon is hereby called for 4 o'clock p.m. on the 25th day of
4 March, 1953 at the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 4305 Santa
5 Fe Avenue, Vernon, California, for the purpose of considering
6 the question of appealing from the judgment of the Superior Court
7 of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles
8 in case number 558132 entitled "Ci.ty of Vernon vs. City of Los
9 Angeles"; and the question of the further development of a water
10 well now in the process of being drilled on the south side of
11 50th Street approximately 690 feet west of Downey Road, being
12 Well No. 13 of Pumping Plant No. 3 in the City of Vernon.
