COUNCIL ABSENT: None
The meeting was called to order by ~or R. J. Furlong pursuant to a motion
of adjournment on March 19, 1954.
Resolution No. 1737 - A Resolution of the City Council of the CitY' of Vernon
on the retirement of Ernest Giles, Chief of Police, after Y'ears of faithful and
cOllpetent service to the City of Vernon, was read.
It was moved by" Poxen, seconded bY' TroWbridge, that Resolution No. 1737
be approved and adopted. Motion carried.
. Ayes: Furlong, Anderson, Poxon, Trowbridge, Mailliard.
Noes: None
Absent: None
It was moved bY' Foxen, seconded by Trowbridge, that the CitY' Attorney be
instructed to draft a Resolution appointing Robert H. Bockhacker Acting Chief of
Police effective !prill, 1954. Motion carried.
Mr. S. L. HcCJ.ar.y addressed the City Council in regard to tbe position of
Chief 01' Police.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it was moved
bY' Poxon, seeonded by Trowbridge, that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
