Council that Hr. J.B.Leords" Jr. has made inquiry regarding tenporary work by
construction crew in V/s DoBe7 Road betweenLeon1s Blvd. and 50th &treet. The C11;y
Engineer stated that sai.dwork is to permit movement ot trattic during construction
ot gaselinepipel:ine on E/s Downey Bead. by Riohtield Oil Corpora.tion. Mr. Leonis,
on advice of his .A.ttorney,requested a letter from the City Cotmcilotthe City ot
Vernon stating that the work on his property', 20 teet _de, is tenporary onlTand is
not intended as a permanent iDprovement.
It was moved by Mai,11 of ard" seconded by Poxon" that Movor Furlong write &
letter to Mr. ,John B. Leonis, Jr. advising him that there is no intention on. the part
of the City ot Vemon. 1;0 acquire any rights on his property' on DowneyBoad by grading
or oil sprinkling, and that it was only' a matter of public convenience desi.gn.ed to
assist travel while Downey Boad is tom up tor pipe lines. Motion carried..
