COUNCIL ABSENT: None
The adjourned regular meeting was called to order by Mayor R. J. Furlong.
The City Council proceeded to conduct a public hearing on the petition of
John B. Leonis, Jr. for a variance from the provisions of Ordinance No. 541, and all
amendments thereto, of the City of Vemon.
Robert L. Martin, Court Reporter, was present and reported the proceedings.
The Mayor asked if anyone from the .:floor wished to address the City Council
opposing the granting of said zone variance.
The following opponents addressed the City Council:
Mr. John H. Saunders, Filtro1 Corp.
Mr. L. F. 1iiglesberger, Tropical Hardwood Imrber Conpany-
Mr. Smiley, Vemon Paving Company and Vemon Asphalt Materials
The Clerk read letters from G10stex Chemicals, IncoIporated and from
Universal Cast Iron Manufacturing CoIlpany- with reference to said petition for a
zone variance.
Mr. Eugene M. Elson from the Law Finn of Daniels, Elson & Mathews, Attomeys
for Petitioner, addressed the City Council on behalf of Mr. John B. Leonis, Jr.
. It was moved by Anderson, seconded by Poxon, that the meeting adjourn to
Tuesdq, March 13, 1956 at 2:00 o'clock P.M. MOtion carried.
