MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON HELD APRIL 22, 1966 AT TEN
O'CLOCK A.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF
THE CITY HALL LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE
AVENUE. VERNON, CALIFORNIA.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Anderson, Furlong, Mai1liard, Malburg, Ybarra
COUNCIL ABSENT: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor R. J. Furlong.
Communication from Thomas Marrow Trucking Company, dated
April 20, 1966, requesting permission to locate a movable trailer
office on wheels at 4300 East 26th Street, and requesting permission
to install a septic tank to provide this office trailer with toilet
facilities, was read.
It was moved by Anderson, seconded by Mailliard, that
Thomas Marrow Trucking Company be authorized to locate a movable
office trailer on wheels at 4300 East 26th Street and to install a
septic tank and dry well to serve this movable office trailer,
provided that said trailer is not used for sleeping and/or cooking
purposes; provided that the requirements of all City departments are
complied with and that all necessary City permits are obtained;
provided that permission is obtained from the California State
Regional Water Pollution Control Board No. 4 for the installation of
the proposed septic tank and dry well; provided that said septic
tank and dry well shall be used only for sanitary sewage; and with
a stipulation that the maximum time limit that said trailer may be
used as an office shall be July 1, 1967. Motion carried.
Communication from Pre-Finish Metals Inc. requesting a
license to eonduct a business of continuous metal strip surface
finishing at 5816 So. Boyle Avenue, was read.
It was moved by Malburg, seconded by Anderson, that the
request of Pre-Finish Metals Inc. be referred to the Building
Department with power to act. Motion carried.
Communication from the Cityof 'Whittier, dated April 20,
1966, transmitting a copy of Resolution No. 3882 of the City Council
of the City of ~1ittier requesting the Assembly of the California
Legislature to repeal House Resolution No. 47 relative to freeways,
was read.
It was moved by Ybarra, seconded by Malburg, that communi-
cation from the City of Whittier, dated April 2e, 1966, be received
and filed. Motion carried.
Communication from D. D. Grayson, Traffic Engineer, dated
April 18, 1966, with reference to the report dated December 7, 1964,
submitted to the City Council which included recommendations
regarding channelization of traffic on Santa Fe Avenue between 25th
Street and Pacific Boulevard, transmitting copies of letters received
in reply to letters dated March 23, 1966, sent to all affected
industries as well as property owners, and suggesting a discussion
of the recommendations as indicated in the report of December 7, 1964,
as well as other possible alternative plans for striping the street,
was read. (Copy to each member of the City Council) (Laid over at

It was moved by Fu~long, seconded by Mailliard, that center
channelization be done in accordance with Plan of November 30, 1964
as submitted by the Traffic Engineer with report dated December 7,
1964; that no parking be permitted be~~een 6:00 o'clock a.m. and
9:00 o'clock a.m. and between 3:00 o'clock p.m. and 6:15 o'clock
p.m. within the limits of the plan; that curb parking be permitted
for parking as required by industries located within the subject
area with due consideration for public safety; and that the Traffic
Engineer be instructed to contaet by letter all those businesses
and property owners who have been involved in this study, advising
them of the action of the City Council. Motion carried.

Absent: None
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
it was moved by Mailliard, seconded by Ybarra, that the meeting
adjourn. Motion carried.
