MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR r~ETING
OF THE CITl COUNCIL OF THE CITi OF
VER...\iON HELD NOVEMBER 18: 1970 AT NINE-THIRTY

CITY HAlL LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE AVE~'UE,
VERNON, CALIfORNIA.
COUNCIL PRESENT:
Anderson, Furlong, Mai11iard, Malburg, Ybarra
COUNCIL ABSENT:
None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor R. J. Furlong.
Discussion was held with reference to the Emp10yer-
Employee Relations Ordinance or Resolution that the City Council
is in the process of drafting; and with reference to the requests
made by interested employee representatives for changes, deletions,
and additions to the original draft.
Interested employee representatives as well as all De-
partment Heads, or their authorized representatives, and
Mr. Harry Keaton, Special Counsel for the City of Vernon in Em-
ployer-Employee relations matters, were in attendance.
It was moved by Anderson, seconded by Ybarra, that an
Employer-Employee Relations Resolution be adopted rather than an
Employer-Employee Relations Ordinance. Motion carried.
Mr. Harry Keaton, Special Counsel for the City of Vernon,
distributed a limited number of copies of his suggestions on the
Employer-Employee Relations Resolution.
Mr. Stephen Silver, representing the Vernon Firemen's
Association, was in attendance, and requested that all suggestions
submitted by Mr. Keaton be made available to all interested em-
ployee representatives; and that he be allowed to comment in writing
on the suggestions presented by Special Counsel.
The City Council considered the first eleven (11)
items on the proposed draft of the resolution as originally sub-
mitted by the City Attorney; and heard comments by others in
attendance.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting, it was moved by Ybarra, seconded by Malburg, that the
meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
