MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'DIE CITY
OF VERNON HELD MARCH 20, 1978,
AT 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. IN 'DIE
COUNCIL CHAMBER OF THE CITY HALL
LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE,
VERNON. CALIFORNIA
COUNCIL PRESENT:
COUNCIL ABSENT:
Gonzales, Kaeser, Malburg, McCormick, Ybarra

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Leonis C.
The City Attorney 4ddressed the Council regarding the
lawsuit brought by Carlton E. Claunch against the City of Vernon
relative to the General Municipal Election held in said city on
March 7, 1978. (Copies of the Dismissal were provided to each
member of the City Council)
At this time, 4:15 o'clock p.m., it was moved by Ybarra,
seconded by Gonzales, that the City Council go into Executive
Session in accordance with Government Code Section 54957. MOtion
carried.

None
None
All persons, with the exception of the City Clerk, the
City Attorney and the Police Chief, were excluded from the Execu-
tive Session.
Mayor Malburg ordered that all cOlBWlications to and
from the Executive Session were deemed private.
At this time, 5:30 o'clock p.m., it was moved by Ybarra,
seconded by Kaeser, that the City Council go out of Executive Ses-
sion and reconvene regular session. MOtion carried.
Ayes: Gonzales, Kaeser, Malburg, McCormick, Ybarra
Noes: None
Absent: None
Resolution No. 4553 - A Resolution of the City Council
of the City of Vemon Ratifying and Approving the Contract With the
County of Los Angeles, the Subscribers Agreement and the Agreement
Between the Chief of Police and the City Clerk Finance Director
Pertaining to the Use of California Law Enforcement Telecommunica-
tions Equipment, was presented.
It was moved by Kaeser, seconded by Gonzales, that Reso-
lution No. 4553 be approved and adopted. Motion carried.
Ayes: Gonzales, Kaeser, Malburg, McCormick, Ybarra
Noes: None
Absent: None
At this time, 5:35 o'clock p.m., it was moved by Ybarra,
seconded by Kaeser, that the City Council go into Executive Session
in accordance with Attorney/Client Privilege. MOtion carried.
Ayes: Gonzales, Kaeser, Malburg, McCormick, Ybarra
Noes: None
Absent: None
All persoDs, with the exception of the City Clerk and
the City Attorney. were excluded from the Executive Session.
Mayor Malburg ordered that all communications to and
from the Executive Session were deemed private.

At this time, 6:00 o'clock p.m., it was moved by Ybarra,
seconded by Gonzales, that the Council go out of Executive Session
and reconvene regular session. MOtion carried.
Ayes: Gonzales, Kaeser, Malburg, McCormick, Ybarra
Noes: None
Absent: None
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by McCOrmick, that
the Mayor be authorized and instructed to respond to the privileg-
ed communication received from Harry J. Keaton, Attorney, former
City of Vernon Municipal Employee Relations Representative. MOtion
carried.
There being no further business to come before the meet-
ing, it was moved by Ybarra, seconded by Gonzales, that the meeting
be adjourned. MOtion carried.
