MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
HELD MAY 23, 1978, AT 4:00 O'CLOCK p. m.,
IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF THE CITY
HALL LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE A VENUE

COUNCIL PRESENT:
Malburg, McCormick, Gonzales, Kaeser, Ybarra
COUNCIL ABSENT:
None
At this time, it was moved by Ybarra, seconded by Kaeser, that the
City Council go into executive session, in accordance with Attorney/Client
pri vileg e. Motion carried.
All persons, with the exception of the City Clerk, the City Attorney,
and Battalion Chief George Bass, were excluded from the executive session.
Mayor Malburg ordered all communications to and from the executive
session were deemed private.
At this time, 5:30 p. m., it was moved by McCormick, seconded by
Ybarra, that the City Council go out of executive session and reconvene regular
session. Motion carried.
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Kaeser, that the City Council
go into executive session, in accordance with Section 54957 of the Government
Code. Motion carried.
All persons, with the exception of the City Clerk, the City Attorney,
and Battalion Chief George Bass, were excluded from the executive session.
Mayor Malburg ordered all communications to and from the executive
session were deemed private.
Battalion Chief Bass was excused at 6:35 o'cloc~ p. m.
At this time, 6:45 o'clock p. m., it was moved by Ybarra, seconded
by Kaeser, that the City Council go out of executive session and reconvene
regular session. Motion carried.
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by McCormick that the City Counci 1
approve the proposed settlement proposal submitted by the City Attorney relative
to retired Police Sergeant Ernest T. Brazil, provided thatthe proposed settle-
ment was approved by the Workmen's Compensation Commission. Motion carried.
It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Kaeser, that the recommend-
ation of the Finance Committee regarding City's assumption of increased cost of
medical insurance premiums for Miscellaneous Personnel, Police and Fire
Chief, Police Lieutenants and Police Captains, and for certain service-retired
miscellaneous employees, for the period June 1, 1978 through May 31, 1979, be
approved. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it was
moved by Kaeser, seconded by McCormick, that the meeting be adjourned to
May 30, 1978, at 4:00 o'clock p. m., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall
located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, California. Motion carried.
