MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
HELD FEBRUARY 28, 1979, AT 5:30 O'CLOCK
P. M., IN THE COONCIL CHAMBER OF THE
CITY HALL, LOCA TED AT 4305 SANTA FE
AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA

Gonzales, Kaeser, McCormick, Ybarra
Malburg (excused)

The meeting was called to order by Mayor pro tem Ybarra.
At this time, 5:35 o'clock, p. m., it was moved by McCormick,
seconded by Kaeser, that .the City Council go into executive session in
accordance willi Attorney/Client privilege. Motion carried.
All persons with the exception of the City Clerk and the City
Attorney were excluded from the executive session.
Mayor Ybarra ordered that all communications to and from the
executive session were deemed private.
At this time, 6:30 o'cloek, p. m., it was moved by McCormick,
seconded by Ybarra, that the City Council go out of executive session
and resume regular session. Motion carried.
Minutes of the Finance Committee meeting held February 27,
1979, were presented for approval. (Copy to each member of the City
Council)
It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Kaeser, that the
recommendations contained in the minutes of the Finance Committee
meeting held February 27, 1979, be approved as submitted. Motion
carried.

Ordinance No. 890 - An Ordinance of the City Council of the City
of Ve rnon Auffionzfiig -Ail Amendment to the Contract Between the City
of Vernon and the Board of Administration of the California Public Em-
ployees' Retirement System, was read as an urgency Ordinance to be
effective March 1, 1979, upon approval.
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by McCormick, that Ordinance
No. 890 be approved as an urgency Ordinance and be effective March 1,
1979. Motion carried.

Absent: Malburg
It was moved by Kaeser, seconded by Mc Cormick, that Mayor
Malburg be excused from attendance at the meetings of February 20 and
February 28, 1979. Motion carried.
Resolution No. 4633 - A Resolution of the City Council of the City
of Vernon'FiXlng-flie "'COmpensation for Certain Employees of said City as
of March 1, 1979, Authorizing Certain Expense Allowances, and Repeal-
ing all Resolutions in Conflict Therewith, was presented.
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by McCormick, that Resolution
No. 4633 be approved and adopted. Motion carried.

It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Ybarra, that the hearing to
consider the recommendation that Jean Hoffman be terminated from em-
ployment with the City of Vernon, be set for 2 :30 o'clock, p. m., March 20,
1979. Motion carried.

There being no further business to come before the council, it was
moved by Kaeser, seconded by McCormick, that the meeting adjourn.
Motion carried.
