19790604 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes I I I I I MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, HELD JUNE 4, 1979, AT FOUR O'CLOCK, P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF THE CITY HALL, LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA COUNCIL PRESENT: Malburg, Ybarra, Gonzales, Kaeser COUNCIL ABSENT: McCormick The meeting was called to order by Mayor Leonis C. Malburg at 4:15 p.m. The meeting was recessed for 10 minutes, until 4:25 o'clock p.m. The meeting resumed at 4:21 o'clock p.m., and the Mayor announced that the hearing to consider the recommendatjonof M.E.R.R. to revoke recognition of Vernon Fire Fighters Association, Local #2312 was open and that the City of Vernon was represented by the City Attorney, David B. Brearley. Richard A. Shinee of the law firm of Lewis & Marenstein, was present to represent Vernon Fire Fighters Association, Local #2312. Rosemary S. Treher was present as a Certified Shorthand Reporter to re- cord the proceedings verbatim, for reduction to a transcript. At this time 5:02 o'clock, p.m., it was moved by Gonzales and seconded by Kaeser to close the hearing. Motion carried. It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Ybarra, that the evidence and testi- mony adduced at the hearings in this matter, be taken under submission. Motion carried. It was moved by Gonzales and seconded that the meeting recess. Motion carried. At this time 5:32 o'clock, p.m. the City Council resumed regular session. It was moved by Ybarra and seconded by Kaeser that the City Council go into executive session of the Government Code, Section 54957. Motion carried. All persons with the exception of the City Administrator and the City Attorney were excluded from the executive session. Mayor Malburg ordered that all communications to and from the executive session were deemed private. At this time, 7:10 o'clock, p.m. it was moved by Kaeser and seconded by Ybarra that the City Council go out of executive session and resume regular session. Motion carried.
