MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR ~EETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, HELD JULY 30, 1985
AT 4:45 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF
THE CITY HALL, LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE
AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA
MEMBERS PRESENT: Ybarra, Davis, Gonzales, McCormick
MEMBERS ABSENT: Malburg
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tern Ybarra.

It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Davis, that the
minutes of the Adjourned Regular City Council Meeting held
July 23, 1985, be approved as written and submitted. Motion
carried.
Communication from George F. Bass, Fire Chief, dated
July 18, 1985, recommending authority and funds to attend
the Western Fire Chiefs Association Conference in Monterey,
California, September l-4, 1985, with an expense allowance
of $756.00, was presented.
It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Davis, that the
recommendation of the Fire Chief be approved and a warrant
issued to George F. Bass in the amount of $756.00 to attend
the Western Fire Chiefs Association Conference in Monterey,
California, September 1-4, 1985. Motion carried.
Communication from George F. Bass, Fire Chief, dated
July 18, 1985, recommending authority and funds for Captain
Howard Stubbins to attend a six day California Fire Academy
School in Pacific Grove, California, September 22-27, 1985,
with an expense allowance of $547.50, was presented.
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by McCormick, that
the recommendation of the Fire Chief be approved and a warrant
issued to Howard Stubbins in the amount of $547.50 to attend
a six day California Fire Academy School in Pacific Grove,
California, September 22-27, 1985. Motion carried.
Communication from Victor H. Vaits, Director of Commu-
nity Services, dated July 22, 1985, submitting a fully ex-
ec:uted Grant Deed from Highland Oaks Associates, for portions
of property adjacent to 26th Street just west of Soto Street,
for street purposes. The Director of Community Services
recommends that the Grant Deed be accepted, the Certificate
of Acceptance be approved and the Mayor and the City Clerk be
authorized to execute on behalf of the City, was presented.

It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Davis, that the
recommendation of the Director of Community Services be ap-
proved and that the Grant Deed from Highland Oaks Associates,
for portions of property adjacent to 26th Street just west of
Soto Street be approved for street purposes and that the Mayor
and City Administrator/City Clerk be authorized to execute the
Certificate of Acceptance on behalf of the City. Motion carried.
Communication from Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administra....
tor/City Clerk, dated July 25, 1985, transmitting the Report
of the City Attorney concerning the Industrial Disability Re-
tirement of Murry C. Wooten. It is hereby recommended that
the Report of the City Attorney be received and filed and a
Resolution be adopted determining the Industrial Disability
Retirement of Murry C. Wooten, was presented.

It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by McCormick, that
the Report of the City Attorney, concerning the Industrial
Disability Retirement of Murry C. Wooten, be received and
filed. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 5202 - A Resolution Of The City Council
Of The City Of Vernon Determining The Disability Retirement
Of Murry C. Wooten, A Local Safety Member Employed By The
City Of Vernon [SS21024 and 21025 of the Government Code],
was presented.
It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Davis, that Res-
olution No. 5202 be approved and adopted. Motion carried.

Mayor Pro Tern Ybarra instructed the City Attorney to
prepare a Resolution commending Murry C. Wooten for his
many years of service.
Communication from Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Adminis-
grator/City Clerk, dated July 25, 1985, recommending that
the agreement for Workers' Compensation and Liability Admin-
istrative Services by and between the City of Vernon and
Fleming & Associates be renewed for an additional 12 month
period, was presented.
It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Davis, that the
recommendation of the City Administrator/City Clerk be ap-
proved and that the agreement for Workers' Compensation and
Liability Administrative Services be renewed. Motion carried.
Communication from Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Adminis-
trator/City Clerk, dated July 29, 1985, recommending authority
and funds to attend the Municipal Treasurers Association's
18th Annual Conference in San Diego, California, August 26-30,
1985, with an expense allowance for registration of $300.00,
was presented.
It was moved by Davis, seconded by Gonzales, that the
recommendation of the City Administrator/City Clerk be ap-
proved for him to attend the Municipal Treasurers Associa-
tion's 18th Annual Conference in San Diego, California,
August 26-30, 1985, with an expense allowance for registration
of $300.00. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the City
Council, it was moved by McCormick, seconded by Davis, that
the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
