20051109 Regular City Council Meeting - MinutesMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF VERNON HELD NOVEMBER 9, 2005, AT 11:10 A.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY HALL LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA MEMBERS PRESENT: Malburg, Ybarra, Gonzales, Davis, McCormick MEMBERS ABSENT: None The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malburg. The City Attorney announced that now was the time for anyone in the audience who wished to address the City Council on any item on the agenda. The Mayor asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to address the Council at this time. There was no one wishing to address the City Council at this time. Mayor Malburg was excused from the meeting at 11:12 a.m. RESOLUTION NO. 8891 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON INDEMNIFYING, HOLDING HARMLESS AND AUTHORIZING THE DEFENSE OF MAYOR LEONIS C. MALBURG RESPECTING LASC CASE NO. BC 331516, was read by title. It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Gonzales, that Resolution No. 8891 be approved and adopted. Motion carried. Mayor Malburg reentered the meeting in regular session at 11:13 a.m. Mayor Pro Tem Ybarra was excused from the meeting at 11:13 a.m. RESOLUTION NO. 8892 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON INDEMNIFYING, HOLDING HARMLESS AND AUTHORIZING THE DEFENSE OF COUNCILMAN THOMAS A. YBARRA RESPECTING LASC CASE NO. BC 331516, was read by title. It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Davis, that Resolution No. 8892 be approved and adopted. Motion carried. Mayor Pro Tem Ybarra reentered the meeting in regular session at 11:14 a.m. Councilman Gonzales was excused from the meeting at 11:15 a.m. RESOLUTION NO. 8893 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON INDEMNIFYING, HOLDING HARMLESS AND AUTHORIZING THE DEFENSE OF COUNCILMAN HILARIO GONZALES RESPECTING LASC CASE NO. BC 331516, was read by title. It was moved by Ybarra, seconded by McCormick, that Resolution No. 8893 be approved and adopted. Motion carried. Regular City Council Meeting Minutes November 9, 2005 Councilman Gonzales reentered the meeting in regular session at 11:15 a.m. Councilman Davis was excused from the meeting at 11:16 a.m. RESOLUTION NO. 8894'- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON INDEMNIFYING, HOLDING HARMLESS AND AUTHORIZING THE DEFENSE OF COUNCILMAN WILLIAM DAVIS RESPECTING LASC CASE NO. BC 331516, was read by title. It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Ybarra, that Resolution No. 8894 be approved and adopted. Motion carried. Councilman Davis reentered the meeting in regular session at 11:16 a.m. City Attorney Eric T. Fresch was excused from the meeting at 11:16 a.m. RESOLUTION NO. 8895 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON INDEMNIFYING, HOLDING HARMLESS AND AUTHORIZING THE DEFENSE OF ERIC T. FRESCH, CITY ATTORNEY, RESPECTING LASC CASE NO. BC 331516, was read by title. It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Ybarra, that Resolution No. 8895 be approved and adopted. Motion carried. City Attorney Eric T. Fresch reentered the meeting in regular session at 11:17 a.m. RESOLUTION NO. 8896 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON INDEMNIFYING, HOLDING HARMLESS AND AUTHORIZING THE DEFENSE OF BRUCE V. MALKENHORST, SR. RESPECTING LASC CASE NO. BC 331516, was read by title. It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Ybarra, that Resolution No. 8896 be approved and adopted. Motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 8897 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A JOINT REPRESENTATION AND WAIVER OF CONFLICT LETTER BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND LOEB & LOEB, was read by title. It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Malburg that Resolution No. 8897 be approved and adopted. Motion carried. Request to revise the safety program respecting the procedures relating to on -duty vehicular accidents, was presented. It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Davis, that the request to revise the safety program be approved and a Resolution be prepared. Motion carried.
