MEETING OF THE CITY OF VERNON HELD
OCTOBER 25, 2006, AT 10:30 A.M. IN THE
COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY HALL
LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE,
VERNON, CALIFORNIA
MEMBERS PRESENT: Malburg, Ybarra, Gonzales, Davis, McCormick
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malburg.
The Deputy City Clerk announced that now was time for
anyone in the audience who wished to address the City Council on
any item on the agenda other than with regard to any public
hearings that may be listed.
The Mayor asked if there was anyone in the audience who
wished to address the City Council at this time.
There was no one wishing to address the City Council at
this time.
RESOLUTION NO. 9148 - A Resolution of the City Council
of the City of Vernon Reciting the Fact of the General Municipal
Election Held on April 11, 2006, Declaring the Result and Such
Other Matters as Provided by Law, was read in its entirety.
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Ybarra, that
Resolution No. 9148 be approved and adopted. Motion carried.
The Acting City Clerk swore -in the elected Councilmen,
Leonis C. Malburg, Thomas A. Ybarra, and William Davis, and
handed them the Certificates of Election to each of them.
Selection of the Mayor and the Mayor Pro Tem, was
conducted.
It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Gonzales, to
select Leonis C. Malburg to serve as the Mayor. Motion carried.
It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by Davis, to select
Thomas A. Ybarra to serve as the Mayor Pro Tem.
Appointment of members to sit on the following
committees, was conducted.
• Disbursement Review Subcommittee
• Finance Committee
• Personnel Committee
• Police & Fire Commissions
• Public Benefits Resource Committee

It was moved by Gonzales, seconded by McCormick, to
reappoint the current members to serve on each committee as listed
below. Motion carried.
• Disbursement Review Subcommittee: Ybarra, Gonzales
• Finance Committee: Malburg, Ybarra, Gonzales
• Personnel Committee: Malburg, Ybarra, Davis
• Police & Fire Commissions: Malburg, Ybarra, McCormick
• Public Benefits Resource Committee: Malburg, Ybarra,
Gonzales, Davis, McCormick
The Acting City Clerk advised that the closed session
portion of today's agenda should be removed.
It was moved by McCormick, seconded by Ybarra, that the
closed session portion of the agenda be removed. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the City
Council at this time, it was moved by McCormick, seconded by
Davis, that the meeting be adjourned, the time being 10:50 a.m.
Motion carried.
