20090519 Regular City Council Meeting - MinutesMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF VERNON HELD TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2009, AT 2:09 P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY HALL LOCATED AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA MEMBERS PRESENT: Gonzales, McCormick, Malburg, Maisano, Davis MEMBERS ABSENT: None The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gonzales. There were no changes to the agenda. Special Counsel Eric Fresch announced to the audience that this was the time for public comments. Mayor Gonzales asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to address the City Council at this time. There was no one in the audience who wished to address the City Council at this time. Special Counsel Eric Fresch asked the City Council to provide their comments on the format of the budget for fiscal year 2009-2010 to meet their needs. The entire Council concurred that the departmental budget reports for fiscal year 2009-2010 would have two columns showing the proposed budget and the current budget, with the possibility of a third column showing estimated costs through the end of the current year. The respective Department Heads presented their proposed 2009-2010 budgets in the following order: 1. Police 2. Police & Fire Dispatch 3. City Clerk 4. City Treasurer 5. Health 6. Health - Solid Waste 7. Haz Mat - Health 8. Finance 9. Business Services & Purchasing 10. Employee Relations ** 11. Elections 12. Risk Management 13. Human Resources **The proposed 2009-2010 budget for Employee Relations was deferred to a later meeting to be determined. Special City Council Meeting Minutes May 19, 2009 There being no further business to come before the City Council at this time, it was moved by McCormick, seconded by Davis, that the meeting be adjourned, the time being 3:55 p.m. Motion carried.
