THE CITY OF VERNON HELD MONDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2010,
IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER OF THE CITY HALL LOCATED
AT 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA
MEMBERS PRESENT: Gonzales, Davis, Maisano, Newmire
MEMBERS ABSENT: McCormick
The meeting was called to order at 8:01 a.m. by Mayor Gonzales.
The City Clerk announced that there was a change to the agenda,
adding the Los Angeles Newspaper Group to the Consent Calendar.
The City Clerk announced that this was the time allotted for
public comments.
The Mayor asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished
to address the City Council. No one responded.
CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Authorization to engage the Los Angeles Newspaper Group at
a cost of $331,146, for the 2011 calendar year.
It was moved by Maisano and seconded by Newmire, that the matter
on the Consent Calendar be approved as recommended. Motion
carried, 4-0.
At 8:03 a.m., it was moved by Davis and seconded by Maisano,
that the City Council go into closed session to discuss the item
listed on the closed session agenda.
CLOSED SESSION REPORT OUT
The Interim City Attorney reported that the City Council
unanimously approved the Option/Purchase Agreement that
consists of a payment of $800,000, plus $125,000 per month for
4 months ($500,000), regarding the property located at 4900
Pacific Boulevard, Vernon, California.
At 8:27 a.m., it was moved by McCormick and seconded by Newmire,
that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
